I Saw Big Ben!!

As you can probably guess, I made it to London!! My flight got in at 6:30 am local time (UTC which used to be GMT). The pubs here don't serve food until at least noon and we hadn't eaten since about four or five am, not good. The only open place we could find was a Burger King! What? I came to Britain to get a way from that. There's also a Starbucks on EVERY corner. We took the train from Heathrow to Paddington, stored our luggage there and then took a cab to our hostel. We did some exploring around the streets by our hostel and then took a much needed nap. We took a double decker bus to the wrong side of town and ended up at the bus garage but as I said this will be about our (mis)adventures. We eventually caught the correct bus and made to the River Thames, Big Ben, and the London Eye. Now we're doing e-mails before we go in search of our dinner. Tomorrow we catch the train to Swansea, Wales. Its strange, none of the locals can understand us but a guy that we're rooming with from Germany understands us perfectly. This is definitely the experience of a lifetime but that's what I came in search of. I'll write more from Swansea. Thanks for all the comments, they're great!!

Glad you're finding your way around London via the "scenic route". Chicago was good practice!

Enjoy! We miss you!

Love ya!

The Starbucks on every corner might be helpful since you went a day and a half or longer without sleep on the trip over.

Hey Jenny --

I had to call your mom to find out how to send you my "comments". You know me -- not very computer friendly!!

I'll forward your blog to Chris and Erin. (Your mom didn't have their e-mail addresses). I'm sure they will have a few comments to make along the way, especially Chris. Jonathan isn't into computers very much -- takes after his mom.

Have fun -- will write more later.

I'm so glad that you made it to London! I hope you're taking lots of photos. I want to see them when you get back.

I'll keep an eye out for dorm info. Oh, BTW, I have booked my flight to Orlando in December. $111.60, can you believe it?! Sweet.

Have a great time. I'll check in every week. =)

You and buses just don't seem to be a very good mix.

Here's to an awesome semester in an area of Britain that isn't boring and trite!

It was great to talk to you last night. Sorry you're having so much trouble getting connected to the internet, now that you're on campus. Hopefully, you'll be back online soon.
